Gwen and Gavin Birth a Brother for Kingston

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second little prince today, E! News has confirmed.

Son Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born Thursday at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, joining 2-year-old brother Kingston in the musically inclined couple’s burgeoning brood.

The family’s newest addition arrived at 12:46 p.m., weighing 8.5 pounds.

“Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy,” a rep for the couple said in a statement.

Stefani set tongues wagging early this morning when she was spotted checking into Cedars, around which the paparazzi immediately set up camp.

A clean-shaven Rossdale, clad in jeans and a black shirt, was spotted earlier this afternoon running through the maternity ward, looking for his wife’s birthing suite.

“Run, daddy, run!” shouted a super excited Kingston, who was leading his father along.

Stefani had looked ready to burst for some time. In fact, today wasn’t the first time a hospital run set off the stork alert.

On Aug. 7, the No Doubt frontwoman also got paparazzi in a tizzy when she showed up at Cedars-Sinai for what turned out to be a simple 30-minute checkup.

News of the pregnancy first broke back in January, when Gavin’s father, Douglas Rossdale, confirmed the bun in the oven.

Isn’t it precious seeing Brit’s kids making friends with kindred spirits like Kingston? We just hope that Gwen tags along for one of their playdates sooner or later!

They came, they saw, and still he didn’t conquer. Even though reigning Wimbledon tennis champ Roger Federer had buddies Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale screaming support during an epic final on Sunday, it was not enough to hold off hotshot Rafael Nadal in what has already been called the greatest final of all time.

But if they gave grand slam titles to spirited supporters, Rossdale would surely be crowned world champ. During a match that slugged on for nearly five hours on-court, Rossdale’s repertoire of fist punching, seat jumping and hollering boosted the energy level from the usually placid competitors’ guest box.

In the five-set match (which spanned seven hours because of rain delays), Spain’s Nadal clawed back to win the final set against Federer, preventing the Swiss champ from winning a sixth Wimbledon title.

Federer and Rossdale have been friends for years – in the past, they have even been spotted playing tennis together in Los Angeles. Earlier in this two-week tournament, the tennis ace joined the Rossdales and their son Kingston, 2, as they went ape at the London Zoo.

During Sunday’s match a pregnant Stefani, wearing a red, white and black herringbone off-the-shoulder dress, had to remove her sunglasses as the light faded in the evening gloom for what turned out to be the longest final in Wimbledon history – and the first Spanish victory for 42 years.

If losing was hard for Federer, it appeared similarly painful for his famous fans. Moments after winning, Nadal leapt on top of a commentators’ box – directly in front of pop’s power couple – to embrace his family. While hundreds stood and applauded, only Rossdale, Stefani and Federer’s girlfriend, Miroslava Vavrinec, remained in their seats.

Gavin is gearing up for a world tour to promote his new solo CD, Wanderlust, just as Gwen is entering the last days of her pregnancy.

“Gwen is miffed that Gavin didn’t have the album’s release date pushed back,” says a source. “She put her career on hold to spend time with him and their 2-year-old, Kingston, and she doesn’t feel like Gavin is holding up his end of the bargain.”

But even if the 40-year-old takes a break to be in the delivery room, he “is going to hit the road within weeks” of the baby’s expected July birth, adds the source.
