Gavin and Gwen at Wimbledon
July 8, 2008
people.com has an article about Gavin and Gwen at Wimbledon..
Wimbledon Gets Shot of Glamour from Gwen and Gavin - Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani : People.com
They came, they saw, and still he didn’t conquer. Even though reigning Wimbledon tennis champ Roger Federer had buddies Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale screaming support during an epic final on Sunday, it was not enough to hold off hotshot Rafael Nadal in what has already been called the greatest final of all time. But if they gave grand slam titles to spirited supporters, Rossdale would surely be crowned world champ. During a match that slugged on for nearly five hours on-court, Rossdale’s repertoire of fist punching, seat jumping and hollering boosted the energy level from the usually placid competitors’ guest box.
In the five-set match (which spanned seven hours because of rain delays), Spain’s Nadal clawed back to win the final set against Federer, preventing the Swiss champ from winning a sixth Wimbledon title.
Federer and Rossdale have been friends for years – in the past, they have even been spotted playing tennis together in Los Angeles. Earlier in this two-week tournament, the tennis ace joined the Rossdales and their son Kingston, 2, as they went ape at the London Zoo.
During Sunday’s match a pregnant Stefani, wearing a red, white and black herringbone off-the-shoulder dress, had to remove her sunglasses as the light faded in the evening gloom for what turned out to be the longest final in Wimbledon history – and the first Spanish victory for 42 years.
If losing was hard for Federer, it appeared similarly painful for his famous fans. Moments after winning, Nadal leapt on top of a commentators’ box – directly in front of pop’s power couple – to embrace his family. While hundreds stood and applauded, only Rossdale, Stefani and Federer’s girlfriend, Miroslava Vavrinec, remained in their seats.

Gavin Rossdale: Pre-order How to Rob a Bank
June 28, 2008
Pre-order Gavin Rossdale’s 2007 release How to Rob a Bank - movie is due out on DVD on September 2, 2008
Half of the fun of writer-director Andrew Jenkins’ feature debut - a heist film that gets everything right about a crime that goes all too wrong - is keeping track of who is doing what to whom and why. Who is robbing the bank? What are they after? These are the simple elements that keep rearranging themselves as Jinx (Nick Stahl) and Jessica (Erika Christensen) find themselves trapped inside a vault, with bank-robber Simon (Gavin Rossdale), stuck on the other side of the vault door, and the police stuck outside the bank. A fresh, freewheeling take on a genre perennial, Jenkins’ film playfully hits the reset button every time things seem to settle into place.

Gavin Rossdale on Fatherhood: It’s Terrifying and Brilliant - WANDERLUST, Gavin Rossdale : People.com
He’s married to Gwen Stefani and has a solo album out – and baby No. 2 on the way – but none of that is going to Gavin Rossdale’s head.“You have to relinquish all self-importance,” the British rocker, 42, tells PEOPLE of life as a dad. “It’s not a bad thing. You don’t have time to think about yourself. I used to wallow in introspection. I don’t have time to be that guy now.”
And it’s not likely he will have extra time soon. The father to Kingston, who recently turned 2, is kicking off a solo career with this month’s release of Wanderlust, and Rossdale’s wife of six years, Stefani, 38, is expecting the couple’s second child this summer.
Before becoming a dad, “I’d been around babies 12 minutes my entire life. I didn’t read any books. And we had friends of ours who were like, ‘You guys re crazy, you’ve got to read books.’”
But, says Rossdale, “It’s so natural you just fall into it and you find your way. It’s terrifying and exciting and brilliant.”
For more on Rossdale – including getting son Kingston ready for a sibling and balancing parenting with touring – pick up this week’s PEOPLE.
