Directed, written by Andrew Jenkins.
With: Nick Stahl, Erika Christensen, Gavin Rossdale, Terry Crews, David Carradine.
Tyro scripter-helmer Andrew Jenkins’ amateurish, half-hearted romantic comedy-cum-heist film twists itself into unconvincing knots to pull off a guilt-free bank robbery. Leads Nick Stahl and Erika Christensen struggle mightily to inject the illusion of wit into terminally lame dialogue, but can’t fill in the many blanks of their characters. Action, mainly consisting of worried pacing, posing and talking on cell phones, jazzed up by gimmicky, rapid-fire montages, collapses completely during pic’s incoherently shot climax. “How to Rob a Bank” opens Feb. 8 at Gotham’s IFC Center and is wisely relegated to midnight-only showings.

A Look Back: Gavin considered for Morrison Role
September 25, 2007
Back in March 2000: Gavin and his management were considering him for the role of Jim Morrison
Rossdale Closing Door On Morrison Role
BUSH frontman GAVIN ROSSDALE has turned down an offer to play THE DOORS’ singer JIM MORRISON in a new film about the band. But a spokesperson for Bush said they specifically performed the Doors track BREAK ON THROUGH at their recent sell-out concert at London’s SHEPHERD’S BUSH EMPIRE for casting scouts from America, who were in the audience. The movie will be based on the book, WONDERLAND AVENUE, the classic Doors biography by Danny Sugarman. Filming is not expected to begin for another two years, which the Bush spokesperson speculated “may be just right for Gavin to take a step in that direction”. Rossdale himself said, however, that he would be content to provide music for the soundtrack, admitting that it was “almost like a dream come true” to be considered for the role.

How to Rob a Bank - Hard Fi
August 11, 2007
If you’ve been under a rock and haven’t yet checked out the trailer for Gavin Rossdale’s latest movie appearance - How to Rob a Bank - a Andrews Jenkins film. The vocals to the background track of the trailer has a striking resemblance to Gavin’s - but it’s not - it’s Richard Archer from the band Hard Fi - must be the UK accent…
How to Rob a Bank - Trailer
Hard Fi - “Cash Machine”
A quote from their myspace video:
From the dead boring outer ring of London’s suburbs comes Hard-Fi. They merge disco, punk and dub until they sound like the late seventies post-punk scene having a fist fight with itself. With their lyrical themes about money not equaling or even being necessary for success, it’s no surprise that the D.I.Y. masterpiece “Cash Machine” was made for $500 and has put them on the map as one of the UK’s most exciting young exports. You need Hard-Fi in your life. Theyre laddish, loud and Christ they sound good. - NME
