hello
it’s wayyy early here and i can’t look out the window as the sun is flexing her big stuff,so i can only look left.left side of the brain.
creative.
all is good,been having real good time adjusting.
every day is some sort of adjustment to the day before.
it’s been pretty busy on the home front of course :-)))))))
there’s been visits and people and precious time.
also
been doing radio stuff for the song and
plenty of singing,some guitar but not many movies-which is a shame.
must get to the cinema…..

i can see snail tracks on the windows now,the sun has calmed a little,made it’s point and is settling for the day of light.here we go again-
what’s in store?
well work wise,i’ll be getting ready for an acoustic performance this sunday at the jane goodall’s peace day at griffith park.check her out if you do not know much about her.she’s an inspiring woman,anyhow i got asked to perform a few songs there on sunday afternoon.so me and chris will be playing around 2pm i think and we have no idea what to expect but that’s cool.
it starts at 11am-and finishes at 4pm

then next week we go to full band rehearsals for the pomona show and the tvs.

the record is doing crazy at radio.and vh-1.

still want the record as a whole to get out there more!
it’s a singles obsessed world but we love entire records!
so if you get a chance don’t be shy.

one film i will be going to see is nights in rodanthe.it looks really good and of course i am happy about love remains the same being in there.richard gere and diane lane-now that’s a class act.

the presidential race dominates the news and the wars continue.
is it peaceful round your house?

entourage is back and better than ever,and the best song i ever wrote is yet to be written,so here we go into the bright light

hello.
back home from the shows.i have been writing bits and pieces on my gavinrossdale.com site but yes i have been neglectful here.

so-apologies.
we have been having a huge time out there at all the shows.so many great nights
and faces,familiar and new.
and the vibe.wowza.the kind of energy that gives sense to my world of music.
thx.

i have a great band,they have been consistently committed and played their brains out at each show.
i have gotten so many emails about the touring schedule-
you know i want to come play wherever you are.and i will.
the plan,so you know,is to the let record to blossom and
shine a light into your world-then we will tour.

it is not personal.well actually it’s all personal but the point being that i am working my way towards you all the time.

i’m glad you have gotten the chance to hear-jungle in the circus-here
it is a cool track that i did with the excellent chris traynor.
it was so hard trying to choose the songs for the record and then the whole idea of extra/bonus tracks for some and not others drives me crazy(it was a bonus track in europe).in 2008.but it is how it is done at this point.
which is why i requested that it be put on the player.
really glad people are digging it.

since i’ve been back from the great seattle,i have been enjoying the olympics.i only mention it as there is a swim relay on in the background.
australian girls winning the relay.
screaming with delight,as you would if you won a gold medal.
now the crazy strong gymnasts.
insane.

anyhow
i just finished a day in the studio working on a cool version of love remains the same.

you will get to hear it-and it was a good day.enough said about that for now.but you’ll see.

so,my little note draws to a close,i wonder what is next for me tonight.
i have to power the studio down,letting the cables sleep.
everyone needs a little rest.

it is mad hot here,which for an english person,is still a shocker.
a world on holiday.

which reminds me it’s been a while since i packed a bag to go away for
a holiday.no complaints but it’s about time.
not perfect time for a holiday right now but worth thinking about.
gawping at travel magazines with impossibly beautiful hotels around the world.
now that is doable-right now.

can i find a late night magazine shop?
maybe in london or nyc,but not here in la.
on franklin maybe?

better start searching around the house.

who knows-could be something somewhere.

good morning cruel world.
good morning beautiful chances.

this week has been full and we’re just past half way.we shot half of the video yesterday,today is the downtown day with some extras and generally more people.

it’s my first video with the excellent sophie muller.we have been friends for a long time but never worked together so this is a new strand to our friendship.
it’s been a long time coming and i’m thrilled we’re in it.
totally guerilla style,with just a few people helping,and shooting around where we live.
at the same time we have to mix the show from orlando,so some serious multi-tasking going on.
and burning the candle wherever there is wax.need more sleep.
and of course no matter what time you get to shut your eyes-the precision of a
2 year old ready to meet another day is unwavering.
marching,animals,chalk,footballs,songs,waffles and searching for snails-
it’s a revolving door of fascination.
and he’s so into it,it’s hard to not share his joy.need coffee.strong,thick,eye-opening and above all,helpful.

i hear the record is going great at radio which is brilliant.thankyou for your support if you’ve been calling and requesting.

we also auditioned some keyboard players a couple of days ago.i liked them all.it is really not my favourite thing to have different people come in and try out.i would make a lousy doorman as i would let everyone in.

anyhow i am close to a decision,as we start rehearsals for the tv shows next week.
we also have some online sessions.so it is a tough call but one we need to make.

well,i’d better get into gear-

fresh from vegaS or is it unfresh from vegas.
love that town so much.
we had a great session at the palms studio for i-tunes.
they asked for 6 songs stripped down.so we stripped them down and
tripped them out too.
theres a couple of things to finish on them-6 songs in a day is tough,as all
you musicians can testify.
anyhow,we had a great road trip down and a ton of fun in the studio-and a couple of visits to the palm casino bar and stuff.
chris was on top form,he played some excellent guitar and
was in high spirits in the studio.he was in wrestling mode.

we flew back to late last night-which is always a bit of a moodkiller flight.
later on
i found some random meatloaf at my house and watched silence of the lambs in the dark.
and as i lay in bed at 4am,i began trying to think about the video for love remains the same.i then spoke to my friend who i think will be directing the video today.
i had an idea that i think we may incorporate into the video,so it was worth trying to figure out.

anyhow,i have a small elephant in my house and he needs attention.

well here we go,my first post in this new incarnation.
thanks for all the support so far.it’s been a really cool start
to the new record.
a good buzz.

we had a really good time in orlando,and it was good to be on stage again.
we are finalising the director for the video and that should be happening in the next few weeks.
june will be here soon enough and i think there’s a ton of stuff planned around the release.
