Rumors: Gavin back with Bush

June 27, 2007

After Gavin made a couple key remarks in a radio interview on Kiis FM, it seems that it has started the ball rolling that Gavin would make a reunion with his former band mates “BUSH”. The reunion if it even happens, would be for the “Live Earth” concert on July-7. Stay Tuned.

Rossdale Fuels Bush Reunion Reports

Gavin Rossdale has fueled speculation he’s reforming rock band Bush for the Live Earth concerts by admitting he misses the group. The rocker is currently recording a new solo album in Hawaii but took time out to discuss reunion reports on a Los Angeles radio station on Monday.

He told DJ Ryan Seacrest, “I kinda miss the band thing. I loved being in the band. It’s kind of like a team.”

And as for the rumors Bush are among the surprise acts at Live Earth on July 7, Rossdale said, “I’m in… There could be some truth in it, I’m up for it.”

..even more speculation has started on the institute fan board that Gwen was seen out in public with Kingston, she was wearing a B*U*S*H t-shirt.

“Age of Love” Tennis Star Trains with Gavin Rossdale

June 19, 2007

Everyone knows that Gavin Rossdale is a big fan of Tennis - he has said to have trained with the “Age of Love” Australian tennis star Philippoussis. Another reality show, this one though has a GR connection. Check it out on NBC.

Every morning, Philippoussis hits the local courts while rehabbing torn knee cartilage suffered at the Hopman Cup earlier in the year. Some mornings, he’ll train with Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani at the couple’s home. And sometimes, he’ll take host Mark Consuelos (”All My Children”) with him. In return, Consuelos helps Philippoussis prevent future locker room ribbing: “If he gets himself in trouble, crying or whatnot, I’ll burst in and say, ‘Dude, man up!’”

jefitoblog: Chartburn: rips on Bush/Gavin

June 15, 2007

I was looking around the web for new Gavin Rossdale news and information - and found a review for the song “Swallowed” (see below). this review, and it’s reviewer, odviously HATE bush and Gavin rossdale. brr it’s cold in here.

make your comments here: Source: jefitoblog.com

Modern Rock: Bush, “Swallowed” (1996)

Gary: Never heard this one before. Not bad, but it sounds like every other modern rock song of the era. Typical song structure, start slow, come in big, slow it down again and repeat. Oh, and add some dark and brooding lyrics. Why was everyone so damn depressed all the time?

Vrabel: The Bush song makes my digestive system engage in several delightful means of revolution; what in the wide wide world of sports did anyone see in this band?

I can’t recall - was this song off their quote-fingers remix record? One of my college buddies, upon hearing that record, issued the immortal proclamation that “Remixed shit is still shit.”

Kurt: Bush was still making music in 1996? For the life of me I will never understand how they sold records. It’s like they took the worst of Nirvana and made it even more unlistenable.

Jefito: Not only did Bush sell records, but this dung heap was the #1 song on modern rock radio in ‘96. I’m not going back to the book to verify the details, but given the way the format was behaving in general during this era, that probably means it topped the charts for over ten weeks. My hatred for Bush’s shitty music remains undimmed by time, but I know I’m in the minority.

Will: I gotta say, Bush meant nothing to me beyond “Everything Zen.” In retrospect, I remember this single - well, the chorus, anyway - and it actually strikes me as being more Britpop than Brit-grunge. Whenever the inevitable Bush best-of comes out, maybe I’ll take a stab at it.

Jason: I was having my cereal this morning, and Gavin Rossdale was on the side of the carton. True story.

Vrabel: I stopped at a Krispy Kreme this morning, and Gavin Rossdale served me my Chocolate Frosted.

Robert: People call Gavin Rossdale “Mr. Stefani.” But Gwen and he are still married, so I’m guessing he knows how to shrug it off. Good for him. Having said that, I don’t remember any Bush songs whatsoever.

Dunphy: “Swallowed,” huh? Do I need to continue, really? I mean, Mr. Stefani pretty much did the heavy lifting right there….

Sigh.

The ’90s were a lousy time for band names… Kind of like the 2000s, actually. Whereas new bands have the pathetic urge to name their groups with numbers, those grunge boys had a thing for disconnected nouns. Bush. Lit. Sponge. The roster would probably make an excellent refrigerator magnet game.

But on a totally opposite track, (sorta), I heard the new album from Nirvana-bees Silverchair recently… It’s actually pretty fantastic (and currently only available in Australia), slightly Beatle-esque, slightly-glam and has Van Dyke Parks on orchestrations. I quite enjoyed it, meaning that there’s still hope for all those 90s second stringers.

Except for Gavin Rossdale. He can go to hell.

David: Can you even call this a song? There’s a chorus, and then a bunch of other shit (emphasis on the word ’shit’) that happens. I’m betting Steve Albini doubled his fee to do this record.

Scott: I fucking hate Bush and refuse to listen to this song. Pretty boy Nirvana wannebes.

Gavin Rossdale - Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur - Mind Games

Lyrics: Gavin Rossdale Cover of ‘Mind Games’
Playing those mind games together
Pushing the barriers, planting seeds
Playing the mind guerrilla

Chanting the mantra, peace on earth
We all been playing those mind games forever
Some call it magic, the search for the grail

Love is the answer and you know that for sure
Love is a flower, you got to let it, you got to let it grow

So keep on playing those mind games together
Faith in the future, outta the now
You just cant beat on those mind guerrillas

Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind
Yes is the answer and you know that for sure
Yes is surrender, you got to let it, you got to let it go

So keep on playing those mind games together
Doing the ritual dance in the sun
Millions of mind guerrillas

Raising the spirit of peace and love
Love…
I know youve heard it before, I know youve heard it before
I want you to make love, not war
